History
Historically the building is known as the Ingenhuett-Faust hotel.  Noted architect, Alfred Giles designed it as an eight room hotel for Peter Joseph Ingenhuett.  Built in 1880, the hotel was doubled with an additional wing in 1894.  Wide verandasopen onto a tree-shaded courtyard in the rear, complete with the original 1880 gazebo.  The hotel is located in the center of a large historic district listed on the National Rigister of Historic Places.  The hotel has both cottages and rooms, all with private baths.  Each room is exquisitely decorated with antiques.  The first floor of the hotel features numerous rooms of tastefully displayed antiques and gifts.

We are located in the Texas Hill Country in the beautiful town of Comfort.  Comfort was established in 1854 and is said to have the most original 19th century business district in Texas.

The Comfort Common was selected by Fodor's Travel Publications as one of The Southwest's Best Bed & Breakfasts in the Fodor's Guide 3rd Edition.  We have also been featured in numerous publications including: The Dallas Morning News, The Houston Chronicle, Southern Living, Travel and Leisure, Texas Highways, America's Wonderful Little Hotels and Inns, and Country Home.

We welcome you to this special part of the Texas Hill Country and hope you will learn to love it as much as we do.
